Minority businesses honored at luncheon

Ten local businesses were recognized for their contributions to the El Paso community at a Wednesday luncheon sponsored by the El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and its Minority Business Development Agency Center. The annual Minority Enterprise Development event took place at the Camino Real Hotel. Those honored were: Minority Construction, Aim Construction; Minority Global Technology, Miratek; Minority Advocate, U.S. Rep. Silvestre Reyes; Media Award, El Paso Times; Distinguished Supplier Diversity Award, Delphi; Access to Capital Award, Bank of the West; 8(a) Graduate Firm-SBA El Paso District Office, Patricia Villalobos, Barnhart Taylor; Minority Small Business Person-SBA El Paso District Office, Bobby W. Trumbla, Glacier Technologies; MBDA Business Center-El Paso Leadership Award, Richard Castro, Castro Enterprises; and the MBDA Business Center-El Paso Legacy Award for Lifetime Achievement was presented to Lorraine Wardy.
